Head of Learning

Our client is a professional accounting body and they are looking for a Head of Learning to join their team. The Head of Learning leads all work functions and initiatives related to learning and development, student progression and quality student recruitment in Singapore. The role encompasses the development of strategic partnerships with educational institutions and public agencies; producing work that furthers the employability of students and advances the industry recognition of the their qualification. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clear leadership, direction and focus to the Learning and Student Development team; 
  2. Develop and deliver key initiatives, and identify performance indicators, to advance the quality of student recruitment, encourage student progression and improve student retention in Singapore; 
  3. Working through data and statistical analysis, devise strategies that contribute towards quality student recruitment, exam success, healthy conversion and retention rates in Singapore. Work closely with Marketing and other colleagues to create a data-driven culture, and address enrolment and progression challenges throughout each stage of the student journey; 
  4. Work with global and regional Learning teams to achieve continuous improvements on speed, quality and consistency with regards to policies and services provided to key stakeholders; namely, students, Learning Partners and local educational institutions; 
  5. Leveraging on resources, partners and communication channels, ensure there is an optimal level of support provided to tutors and students to ensure passing rates that are aligned to global standards. In particular, the utilisation of such support by self-study students; 
  6. Build and strengthen relationships with relevant, learning partners, high-level influencers and advocates in order to advance the overall awareness and recognition of the company's professional qualification in Singapore. Develop sustainable programmes with stakeholders over the long term; 
  7. Engage members and local Careers Sub-committee (as part of the greater Singapore Network Panel) to improve current levels of student support and engagement, increase student employability and address Future Jobs, Skills and Training trends surfacing in Industry; 
  8. Organise innovative and impactful initiatives in order to engage with students and educational stakeholders and promote the Qualification, its reach and relevance, thereby improving competitiveness and contributing to higher student satisfaction and industry recognition  
  9. Work with Employer, Membership, Professional Insights and Marketing to develop a more joined-up approach to market, applying continuous improvement disciplines for operational efficiencies 
  10. Develop and enhance the company's proposition in tertiary institutions (private and public) to ensure a pipeline of high quality students 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The post-holder is expected to possess the following attributes: 

  1. Possess a degree or an equivalent professional qualification, with at least 15 years of work experience in the education sector, or in a similar scope of work within qualification or accreditation organisation; 

  2. Have at least 10 years of experience of managing B2B partnerships and people at work; 

  3. Have good knowledge of accounting and finance education, education frameworks/pathways, continuing education and training and pedagogy; 

  4. Able to analyse the student journey to identify key interventions with marketing and learning providers 

  5. Clear understanding of government programs relating to education (Polytechnics and Universities) and lifelong learning (SkillsFuture, e2i centres etc.) 

     Key Metrics
    1. The role has two direct reports at present; 
    2. The key metrics associated with this role include student recruitment; exam entries; exam passing rates; student satisfaction and NPS, and student retention.
