Principal Consultant (Expanding Startup) - Hong Kong

Our client is a series A tech start-up based in Hong Kong that aims to simplify professional consulting services. Boasting a stable of founders with diverse and relevant industry experience combined with a result driven entrepreneurial spirit, they aim to dominate the space across Asia.  

As a Principal Client Services/Account Manager, you will be one of the primary building blocks of the company. Principals are responsible for the entire project lifecycle from expert engagements to client communication – this includes industry and market research, lead identification, sourcing and conversion, and relationship-building with clients and experts. You will build meaningful relationships with clients with the goal of becoming their go-to partner for any research needs. This is an instrumental role in delivering on client requests that will better inform clients’ business decisions, which you could be reading about in the Wall Street Journal the next day.

This role will be based in Hong Kong.

Your day will look like this!

  • End-to End Client Communication:

    • Quickly understand designated client accounts, liaise with and foster relationship building

  • Execute Knowledge Partner engagements:

    • Perform research on a wide range of industries, gain thorough understanding of project needs & objectives in order to pinpoint the most relevant subject matter experts for each request

    • Identify and recruit industry professionals to join our network as Knowledge Partners and establish relationships with them

    • Conduct in-depth and informed conversations with Knowledge Partners, assessing their expertise and vet their suitability for projects by learning about their professional background, industry developments and trends

    • Work closely with your team, using informed judgment to match the best-suited Knowledge Partners to each client request and make recommendations to clients as a team

    • Troubleshoot queries from Knowledge Partners

  • Brainstorm with management & business development teams on various initiatives, collaborate and contribute on strategies to support company’s growth

 

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic track record

  • Excellent communication skills with a strong command of English; fluency in any other Asian language is a plus

  • 1-3 years of work experience preferably from market research/recruitment/advisory industry with client-facing or/and sales exposure

 

Good to have:

  • Excellent client-facing skills, and a hacker mentality to get things done.

  • A high emotional quotient and a love for networking and connecting people

  • Keen Interest, curiosity, aptitude and resourceful in research across a wide array of topics

  • Deep understanding of how businesses operate and close attention to -detail.

  • Flexible and excited about working in a fast paced, results-oriented environment
