Product Manager (SG) - Corporate Innovation Lab

Our client is an Innovation Lab that builds new products by combining skills in consumer research, design, technology development, marketing and finance to create an attractive, viable business idea.  The lab focuses on disrupting the traditional insurance models. They are in search of a Product Manager to bring these skills together and drive the overall direction, build and manage the vision of each product.  As Product Manager, you will play a critical role in defining the initial strategy, build relationships within the corporate and with the innovation exo-system in Singapore in bringing new products from concept to launch.  

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate new concepts in their focus areas (Disruptive Insurance, The Future of Mobility, The Connected Self) in collaboration with Market Research & Design team

  • Build prototypes and MVPs for testing in collaboration with the Technology team

  • Define the product business model, manage the product roadmap, create the go-to-market strategy and develop the marketing and sales strategy

  • Collaborate and manage cross-functional teams across the corporate to determine key product features, legal and compliance matters, and system integrations when launching new insurance products

  • Track and evaluate key metrics and customer feedback, identify product pivots, and work with the team to kill underperforming ideas and learn from failure

  • Inspire the lab, broader corporate team and partners to support and evangelize the product

  • Identify potential partners or vendors in the start-up and innovation eco-system in partnership with the Lab Head


Requirements

  • Passion for constantly learning and creating new things

  • A team player who is transparent, ethical, and learns from failure

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a new product across the entire lifecycle from idea to launch

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of self-starting, self-organizing, and creatively overcoming obstacles

  • Experience in a start-up or innovative corporate team building customer-centric products in a test-and-learn approach (e.g. Lean Start-Up, Agile Development, etc)

  • Ability to manage and influence cross-functional stakeholders

  • Knowledge of insurance and/or financial services is a plus; otherwise, the ideal candidate must be willing to learn about the industry
