Head of Design (Dubai) - Property Tech

Our client is a leading Series B Property Tech based in Dubai which facilitates real estate transactions all over the Middle East. You will be working with an international team of professionals in Dubai - well-known for its tax-free living and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Open to all tech-savvy adventurers who are ready to create and design the best products the world has seen. Relocation provided.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading their Product Development organization while working closely with the Product Management and Engineering team to deliver ambitious growth plans. You will also help raise their capabilities to the next level as they expand. The ideal candidate is an experienced design manager, who can get results, lead change and nurture a truly progressive culture within Design.

Responsibilities

  • User-Centered Advocate - Advocate for strong user-centered design practices across the organization, ensuring that we always put the user and customer at the heart of our work.

  • Build Design Processes - Building processes and rituals that enable Designers to work effectively with Product Management and Engineering counterparts to maximize impact.

  • Improvement of Team Performance - Lead the Designers on the team to be the best at getting better in their craft

  • Design Ownership - Owning the design language and quality bar of the product.

  • Driving a Growth Mindset - Encourage experimentation, retrospectives, and team learning.

  • Team Allocation - Determine hiring needs, and how best to leverage the talent we have at hand

  • Coaching - Helping the Designers grow in a well-rounded manner (technical design and non-technical design growth)

Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Product Design

  • 2 - 3 years of proven leadership experience in building and scaling a design team

  • Strong communication and influencing skills

  • Excellent knowledge of professional design best practices

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup a plus
