VP Account Management (MY) - Ecommerce
Our client is a Malaysian-based series B startup that operates an online shopping site that provides a cost-effective online marketing channel, that will assist online merchants, service providers and more traditional brands accelerate online customer acquisition and sales.
In this context, our Account Management team leads our efforts in developing and managing long term win-win relationship with our partners. This includes overseeing the commercial relationship with the clients and ensuring technical integration of our systems.
As Vice President - Account Management you will be a member of the company’s senior leadership team -- helping define the long-term direction of the company -- as well as support the account management and integration teams in overseeing execution. A leader in agility, the company leverages OKR to define objectives our objectives, and follows a two (2) week sprint cycle to manage execution.
Specifically, you will:
Work with the senior leadership team to define the long-term strategy of the company.
Work with leadership and Account Management team to develop Objective and Key Results (OKRs) to deliver on strategy. Including the specification of of partnership strategies and products with eCommerce companies, and other digital companies and/or other technology partners across South East Asia operating in this region.
Work with relevant product owners to ensure prioritization of sprint backlog for bi-weekly sprints.
Support cross functional team to ensure execution of backlog including:
Identification, negotiation and execution of product and growth partnership opportunities.
Develop and execution of account management plans
Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers / influencers incl partners, key users, clients and other members in the eco-system across commercial and technical integration areas.
Leverage analytics to drive key performance metrics of both our partners and the company, identify areas of improvement, strategy for growth, and long-term retention initiatives
Play an integral role in strategically building and developing an effective communication base with partners with a prime focus on revenues through active ideation of next generation processes.
Ensure senior account leadership for key partner / merchant accounts
Ensure proper resource planning to deliver of strategy and OKRs. Providing coaching and development to ensure Account Management / Integration teams have required skills and competencies.
The Ideal Candidate
Minimum 8 years of experience in business development, account management, product management or similar roles at a top technology company or marketing agencies (media/creative/others).
Prior work experience in B2B sales and/or Account Management in affiliate marketing and / or technical IT knowledge a plus.
Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and partnership strategies (influencing C-level and other senior executives at the client) that achieved broad support from clients and/or industry group.
Strong product instinct and ability to identify opportunities to leverage partners’ existing and in-development products, as well as the ability to collaborate with our Product and Engineering organization to build world-class features for our users.
Ability to recruit, coach, and mentor a diverse team of high performing individuals.
Strong verbal and written English skills (– including the ability to speak to different constituencies such as business development, product, engineering, and sales internally and externally. Proficiency in other SE Asian languages an advantage.
Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
