VP Finance (SG) - MedTech
Location: Singapore ( with intensive travel)
Our client is a MedTech company in medical imaging software. Their platform is currently being used in healthcare across the world for hundreds of thousands of patients every year. They are also trusted and backed by several investment funds and VCs in the region.
Our client is entering a period of rapid growth, with expansion targeted across Southeast Asia and other regions after their Series A funding. They need the strong, hands-on and experienced leadership of Finance to build this function to manage the multi-jurisdictional, multi-currency nature of their business, along with the associated financial, accounting and taxation challenges that come with it.
Provide direction and execution on our client’s financial strategy and group structure Identify and execute the right setup for our client’s group structure and financial flows, with a strong strategic mindset on supporting future growth and ease of business
Lead a strong system of financial planning & analysis to support our client’s growth
Pro-actively manage the Finance function at group and subsidiary level, mentor junior team members and direct decisions on hiring or outsourcing
Partner with the CEO and COO to improve payments and financial reporting capabilities through the implementation of better systems and technology
Work with the CEO and COO to set up, lead and manage an efficient and rigorous budgeting and planning process to support the company’s strategic direction
Manage the preparation of financial analysis, with a focus on financial KPIs for the business, for monthly discussion with Leadership Team and Board of Directors
Lead financial assessment and due diligence of potential business opportunities, strategic projects, acquisitions and/or divestments
Manage the reporting and accounting requirements for the company, ensuring that all financial statements are prepared on time and comply with local standards
Set up and periodically review internal financial controls and policies to manage business risks and ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements
Oversee financial reporting, statutory compliance and internal controls
The role requires an experienced professional with a background and skills in accounting, finance and taxation, preferably in multiple standards such as IFRS and GAAP.
Professional CPA accreditation is a must.
. Relevant experience in a fast-paced startup to scaleup environment, preferably in Southeast Asia, is critical for the VP Finance to anticipate our client’s requirements for growth, understand the pace of execution expected, and avoid having to learn on the job.
Strategic partner. While expertise and experience are critical, the VP of Finance shall also be expected to take a cross-silo approach to their function’s work, partnering with other leaders in the organization from the business and technology side to achieve our shared goals.
Effective communicator. You must be able to translate detailed financial analysis or complex accounting issues to the Leadership Team and Board of Directors, in order to drive decision-making efficiently and effectively.
Team builder/manager. While the VP Finance is expected to be a strong individual contributor, they will also be expected to effectively manage and develop the existing Finance and Accounting team and eventually build out the team’s capabilities to further support growth.
