VP Growth & Strategy (MY)-  eCommerce Startup

Our client is a series B startup and operates a online shopping site.  Based in Malaysia, they operate across much of SEA.

As they continue their growth, they are seeking to strengthen their managerial capacity to help them grow the number of visitors to their site. Somebody who will help them again triple the business in the next 12 months. They are looking for a passionate analytical leader to manage their growth agenda across their products – coupons, price comparison and product discovery.

This role is suited for strong analytical managers with product, marketing or consulting background, who would want to be part of extraordinary growth story (double digit growth every month is what they achieved and aim for in the future) and are ready to build big teams in modern, agile environment.


  • Develop compelling growth agenda for each of the three business units (BU)

  • Engage with internal team’s domain knowledge and outside experts to understand key marketing / technology / competitive / operational and developments which would positively impact their growth

  • Conduct research as required to understand requirements for growth across markets

  • Track performance and benchmark against competitors

  • Size market opportunity

  • Identify key opportunities / threats

  • Periodically evaluate and confirm current BU’s benchmark and develop vision for each product

  • Develop backlog for each BU to achieve vision

  • Develop product roadmap for each BU for upcoming period

  • Create product backlog to deliver on product vision

  • Participate in growth backlog prioritisation meetings to determine priorities / product prioritisation

  • Work with Product Owners to ensure delivery

  • Build a customer focused team

  • Enable strong analytical problem solving approach based on distinctive customer insights

  • Build capacity of team through development of current team and hiring

  • Become a key member of a close knit senior leadership team, working with colleagues to define long term strategy and plan to achieve

You are a fit for this role, if you:

  • Enjoy a strong product vision and passion for making products that users love

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the leverage we have from a Product perspective to further push our core traffic drivers

  • Have experience in SEO driven businesses and are passionate about latest trends and applications in the world of SEO

  • Possess strong Analytical problem solving skills with an Investigative and structured mindset

  • Have at least 7 years experience with experience in develop product roadmaps

  • Have international work experience / worked outside home market for more than 2 years

  • Have management experience, managing at least 5 direct reports at some stage
