Investor Relations Associate (SG) - Venture Capital [22P12]

Our client is a young venture capital company based in Singapore with a portfolio of disruptive technology companies. Leveraging on their network and investment experience in North Asia, North America and Singapore and the deep experience of their co-founders who have helped companies with tech innovation and global market expansion, they are dedicated to investing and helping portfolio companies scale.

The Investor Relations Manager role is created to support the CEO in this real VC entrepreneurial journey. We are looking for a go-getter, a generalist with a fundraising background, who has a keen interest in building an early-stage VC. Here is an opportunity to interact with founders of early-stage start-ups and work alongside the fund CEO in raising both equity and credit funds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investor relations and management – develop relationships with new and existing investors, generate and pitch sensitive disclosures such as investor presentations, press releases, business assessments, investment strategies, fund performance etc

  • Analyse the performance of the fund portfolios and identify business opportunities for growth and conduct studies on the competitive landscape, global marketplace and external business environment that will shape longer-term strategy.

  • Review internal and external communications: Pitch deck write-up, reports, newsletters and manage Investment follow-up.  Monitor information flow, sometimes acting as a gatekeeper to help fund CEO identify areas of focus and set priorities for maximum results

  • Facilitate operations with regards to reporting, tax, audit, fund administration and compliance.  Ensure smooth progress of financing, settlement, investment on-boarding etc. 

  • Engage with senior leadership of the portfolio companies (eg, Founders and CFOs) to ensure that the financial information of the investments is obtained on a regular basis while balancing the needs and constraints of these portfolio companies eg. Annual audited financial statements, latest cap table, latest financial projection etc

REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep interest and curiosity in technology entrepreneurship

  • A hands-on strong problem solver who is hungry to grow and learn

  • Strong finance and or accounting literacy with a minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in a financial institution (investment banking / PE) with sales or fund experience

  • A disciplined and organised individual who has superior communication skills and a strong ability to prepare and communicate clear and compelling messages to senior leadership and can diligently follow up with senior internal and external stakeholders

  • A good network of family offices in Asia or around the world as well as institutions such as pension funds or endowment funds would be a huge plus
