Our client is a globally recognized food tech company based in Singapore, known for a flagship product which aims to revolutionize the dessert experience. With institutional backing, their mission is to bring the perfect dessert to every countertop.

As the General Manager (China), you will hold a key leadership role, overseeing our operations in China. Your primary responsibility will be to drive growth and manage the overall performance of our business in the region. Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required, with proficiency in Cantonese as a strong advantage. You will leverage your experience in leading teams and organizations in the retail sector to ensure our success in the Chinese market.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives, drive revenue growth, and expand market presence in China.

  • Conduct market analysis and assess consumer trends to identify opportunities for new product launches and business expansion.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams with the local distributor partner to align strategies and ensure seamless execution of initiatives.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, making data-driven decisions to optimize business operations.

    Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive employee engagement and professional growth.

  • Set clear goals and performance expectations for team members, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work culture that promotes innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop talent acquisition and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent in the industry.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our business in China, including retail stores, distribution, and supply chain management.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

  • Monitor operational efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with the global headquarters to implement standardized processes and systems while adapting them to the local market.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, suppliers, and government agencies.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to drive business development initiatives, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures.

  • Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
