ESG & PMO Manager

Our client is a large mining conglomerate with mining sites in Indonesia and Australia and they are looking for an ESG&PMO Manager to join the team. This position will be a regional one which can be based in Indonesia, Australia or Singapore and can possibly be fully remote for the right individual. Reporting directly to the Group Deputy Director ESG, this role calls for an individual capable of managing cross-functional and cross-border projects, driving sustainability across our portfolio companies, and positioning us as a leader in responsible mining and environmental stewardship.

Key responsibilities:

• Strategic Development: Act as a thought partner to senior leaders, aiding in the formulation of an integrated ESG strategy that resonates with the company's mission and strategic goals.

• Innovation and Future-proofing: Contribute to the ESG future-proofing process through technocommercial evaluations of ESG innovations and business models, aiding in the creation of a resilient short- to mid-term ESG roadmap.

• Investment Preparation: Facilitate readiness for external investment opportunities that support the strategic direction of Portfolio Companies, with a focus on ESG-aligned projects and initiatives.

• Project Leadership: Oversee and manage a broad spectrum of ESG projects and initiatives within the Group and its Portfolio Companies, including decarbonization, rehabilitation, circular economy, social impact, etc.

• Trend and Compliance Monitoring: Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, regulations, and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and proactive in addressing ESG-related risks and opportunities.

Requirements:

• Background and Experience: Previous experience in consulting, venture capital, or relevant industries, with a preference for candidates who have international exposure, ideally outside Indonesia.

• Technical and Commercial Acumen: A strong grasp of technology-driven solutions, engineering principles, and commercial strategies within the sustainability and ESG landscape.

• Curiosity and Problem-solving: A proactive, curious mindset with a hands-on approach to tackling complex ESG challenges, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving capabilities.

• Communication and Influence: Outstanding communication abilities and the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders across various levels and functions without direct authority.

• Project Management Excellence: Proven expertise in managing large-scale, complex projects with excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
