Our client is a mining conglomerate and they operate in a capital-intensive, operationally complex, and commodity-driven environment. Planning is not just about numbers — it is about anticipating cycles, protecting resilience, and enabling strategic growth.
We are looking for a high-calibre Finance Manager – Planning & Budgeting who can build forward-looking financial intelligence that supports executive and board-level decision-making.
This role is for someone who thrives in structured modelling, understands risk, and can translate operational drivers into financial impact.
Job Requirements: What You Will Lead
Strategic & Operational Planning
Lead annual budgeting and long-term planning (3–5 years outlook).
Develop a forward-looking, risk-aware financial roadmap aligned with:
Corporate strategy
Capital allocation priorities
Fleet and operational capacity
Funding structure and liquidity strategy
Ensure planning outputs are timely, accurate, and decision-ready for Management and Board.
Driver-Based Financial Modelling & Scenario Planning
Develop structured, integrated financial models (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Translate operational drivers (volume, strip ratio, utilization, productivity, fuel cost, FX, interest rates) into financial impact.
• Build scenario models to evaluate commodity price volatility, cost inflation, funding shifts, and contract changes.
• Deliver actionable insights — not just spreadsheets.
Sensitivity Analysis & Stress Testing
Perform rigorous sensitivity analysis on key financial and operational drivers.
Stress-test liquidity, leverage, covenant headroom, and cash sustainability.
Quantify downside risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Support proactive risk management in a cyclical industry.
Business Case & Capital Allocation Support
Develop and review investment models for fleet expansion, contract bids, strategic initiatives, and new business opportunities.
Evaluate IRR, NPV, payback, risk-adjusted return, and funding implications.
Job Qualifications: What We Are Looking For
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
(mandatory).
• Master’s degree (MBA / Master in Finance) is an advantage.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CMA, CFA is preferred.
Experience
Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial modelling, or strategic planning.
Proven track record in:
o Building integrated three-statement financial models.
o Leading budgeting and long-term planning processes.
o Scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
o Business case development and investment evaluation.
Experience in capital-intensive industries (mining, heavy equipment, infrastructure, energy, or similar) is highly preferred.
Exposure to board-level reporting and executive presentation is a strong advantage.
