The Role

To power their next phase of expansion, our client is looking to significantly augment their engineering bench strength. They are seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering to architect the company’s digital backbone and lead a high-performing software team. This is a pivotal role for a leader who thrives in startup environments

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Ownership: Design and own the long-term technical roadmap and system architecture, ensuring alignment with global business objectives and scalability requirements.

• Engineering Excellence: Implement and enforce rigorous technical standards, including mandatory code reviews, automated testing frameworks, and comprehensive documentation.

• Data & Workflow Integrity: Establish robust Data Architecture patterns to ensure high availability, data integrity, and efficient retrieval for automated medical report generation.

• Strategic Leadership: Provide deep technical mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous skill enhancement and proactive problem-solving.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, clinical, and laboratory teams to translate complex business needs into elegant, executable technical solutions.

• Security & Compliance: Oversee data security strategies and ensure strict adherence to international healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PDPA).

Key Requirements

• Leadership Experience: About 10 years of experience in engineering leadership, with a proven track record of managing teams within a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.

• Full-Stack Proficiency: Expert-level technical depth across the full stack (modern backend frameworks and frontend libraries).

• Hands-on Capability: A "lead-by-example" mindset with the ability to dive into the code while maintaining a high-level strategic perspective.

• Scaling Expertise: Demonstrated experience in team building, hiring, and structuring engineering departments for rapid growth.

• Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare, biotech, or highly regulated sectors is a significant advantage.

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Communication: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This role is open only to candidates who are currently eligible to work in Singapore.
