Investment Director (PH/Hybrid) - Climate tech startup [23F04]

Our client is an award-winning, innovative climate tech venture. The company builds sustainable, and affordable homes in the region, building distinct communities, especially in the Philippines. We are looking for a strategic leader who is responsible for managing the project fundraising process, building partnerships with banks and financial institutions and closing strategic deals in the Philippines. Based in the Philippines, the Investment Director is in charge of raising financing for the development communities, developing partnerships with investors and setting-up key project financing strategies for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Track record in raising financing for real estate projects. Specific experience in affordable housing is highly preferred.

  • Be a business growth leader and hacker, with a strong understanding of real estate fundraising and building investor relationships.

  • Develop and implement financial fundraising and commercial strategies to deliver business growth and profitability in line with the company’s overall goals and objectives

  • Create financial models to support the fundraising process

  • Structure project deals and spearhead negotiations with value creation for every stakeholder

  • Identify and evaluate potential sources of funding, such as private equity, bank finance, development finance, bonds, green bonds (green financing) and other relevant financial parties

  • Develop and maintain relationships by engaging existing partners and developing new partners including banks, investors, international development funds and other financial institutions

  • Monitor the marketplace and analyze opportunities, providing competitive and ROI analysis, strategies, and tactics

  • Serve as a key communicator through both verbal and written communications and take part in the presentations for investors

  • Build and develop teams that can scale while delivering excellence

Requirements

  • 7+ years of working experience within investment banking or financial institutions

  • Proven experience in financial fundraising for real estate and infrastructure development (projects above USD 50 million preferred)

  • Deep investor relations in the Philippines and strong networks with banks and international development institutions

  • Knowledge of renewable energy (solar) is useful but not essential

  • A degree or MBA in Finance, Business, Investment or related disciplines is preferred but not essential

  • Experience in developing and executing business strategy

  • Significant general management and P&L experience

  • Inspirational leadership style with a hands-on approach

  • Grit and tenacity to work through ambiguity and unforeseen challenges.
