Senior GeoTech Engineer (Jakarta, Indonesia)
Our client is an international mining conglomerate with operations in Indonesia, the US and Australia and they are looking for a Senior GeoTech Engineer to join their team in Jakarta.
Job Description
The individual will control and evaluate matters related to slope stability which is an integral part of the final mining design plan. This would include supporting designs, spot projects, and new projects by conducting geotechnical and geohydrology studies. The projects will encompass the entire planning process to its execution by taking into account K3LH factors to achieve operational efficiency and fulfilment of contracts to customers.
Scope of work
Analyze and review the final design plan for the annual / long-term design of the mining process, taking into account technical aspects (soil conditions, groundwater direction, topography, etc.), in order to minimize the potential for landslides throughout all mining operations.
Conduct assessments and provide recommendations for new project plans, taking into account technical aspects (rock material conditions, soil, topography, and surface water), to minimize the potential for landslides.
Conduct analysis and provide recommendations for "special projects" such as the effect of vibrations due to blasting, river diversion and hydrological review, settlement analysis on civil building foundations, in order to minimize the potential for landslides.
Ensure periodically that geotechnical engineers both at HO and site do the following:
a. Update rock mechanical properties from geotechnical mapping data
b. Update cross sections to provide information on rock sequence, rock hardness, actual topo and design plans
c. Create weekly issues, risk levels, movement reports and slope inspection pits
d. Create back analysis and forward analysis of each landslide event, and provide recommendations.
Job qualifications
Bachelors of Engineering/ Geologist with minimum ten years experience in the mining industry
