Venture Builder - Energy Tech (SG) - ESG Venture Builder [23P14]
Our client is a corporate backed venture arm covering Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, based in Singapore since 2018. Their mission is to develop new growth vectors for the group in the region that address our global ambition to transform the energy world into a zero carbon one.
Through their Venture Build programme, they build entirely new energy related corporate backed, independent ventures which will accelerate the transition to a low-carbon world. With a current portfolio of 7 start-ups, they have the vision to grow 3-4 new start-ups per year in the region.
We are looking for an entrepreneur looking to contribute your skills to build the next climate tech venture to join them as Venture Builder (Energy Tech). This is a regional role with Asia-Pacific, Middle East and European scope.
Responsibilities
Managing a venture building portfolio through identifying pain points for customers in our industry, analysing their needs and formulating solutions in the form a venture investable business plan. You will work with founders and help bring the company from 0 to 1 and lead the team on a path to success.
Heavily involved in strategy, product definition, customer engagement and team setup. You will play a key role in bringing together the right market opportunity and set up the next successful start-ups in the zero-carbon energy space.
Based out of Singapore, you will also be responsible for the launch of the first venture builds in Middle East and Europe, coordinating with colleagues in these regions.
Lead the development of several companies from ideation stage to incorporation and working towards product-market-fit.
Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to the founder(s) to deliver and grow high potential ventures on a day to day and when necessary act as co-founder.
Support the idea validation phase going from 0 to 1.
Help develop the venture building model overseas by coordinating launching new countries for venture building.
Requirement
8+ years’ experience in the venture space (entrepreneur, venture building, accelerators)
Entrepreneurial experience
Energy background
Pro-active, self-driven and detail-oriented
Strong knowledge of Lean Start-up, Business Model Canvas & Value Proposition Canvas, Design thinking methodologies
Proven ability to influence decisions at all levels in the organization
Great communication and presentation skills
Strong project management and organization skills
Fluency in English (written and spoken) and have local or regional track record
